AJMC: Small ACO Medicare Practices Reduced Spending More Than Large Ones in 2016: 4 Findings
- Patients in small ACO practices had annual Medicare spending decreases of $269 more than those attributed to large ACO practices (a 3% decline in baseline spending)
- Small ACO practices reduced spending more than large practices by $165 for physician services (a 3.4% decrease in baseline spending)
- Small ACO practices reduced spending more than large practices by $113 for hospital/acute care (a 5% decrease in baseline spending)
